Description
In 1967, I discovered a set of water colors in tubes at the University of South Florida bookstore. The only water colors I had seen were the cakes in a plastic tray, which tended to get muddy and sloppy. I bought these and played with them. This picture is one of the result. Since I had never had formal training in their use, I painted directly from the tube, with very little of what is considered typical water-color technique.
Just an imaginary scene, scanned from a color copy of the original, which I haven't seen in several years. Painted about the same time as the Brooklyn El picture:

Oh my GOD! This has almost an eerie feel to it, yet it's downright beautiful
